Margaret Tudor In Labour

I was pacing my chambers at Edingburgh Castle as I was eagerly awaiting news on Margaret's pregnancy. It had been an hour since I had last heard anything and I was getting anxious.

Curse this pain! I thought to myself as I held onto the pole of my bed in fear. Dark thoughts creeped through my head as I endured my contraction: my mother had died in childbed, her last moments were these. I could not help but wonder if these were my last moments as well. I could not think of the rosary on the bed, I could not think of the others in the room who had watched me wander helplessly in fear as my pains began.

This is Hell! I thought to myself.

My mother died in Hell.

I had sent the very best midwives to attend to Margaret as I did know how she felt especially after what had happened with her mother. I still waited for news that everything was alright. I was starting to get more worried and I could not stop thinking about Margaret.
