Elizabeth comes to court

It would seem that Queen Jane has encouraged our father to invite the three of us to court this Christmas.

I thank you father for inviting me to court for the Christmas and New Year festivities.

I smile as I see my daughter Elizabeth arrive.

I see my father beckon me to come and greet him and I make a low curtsey. He takes my hands and bids me arise.

I am honoured to be here father and I have brought a christmas present for you. I show him a piece of music that I have written for him.

Father looks impressed so I say:-

It is dance music father, I have called it "Holly and Ivy" for Christmastide and I would dearly love for you and I to dance together to it. It is mostly my own composition, with only a little help from my music tutor.

"I would very much like to hear it Elizabeth and yes we can dance to it together. Please hand the music to the musicians they will play it for us.

I am so happy that my father wants to listen to my music and dance with me.

I knew of course, that she would because she had done everything in her power to bring us back together as a family. But father always likes to think that he makes all the decisions.
